I am revising this to 5 stars for Denise and her will to help me get my package and the Manager at Piedmont for helping me. I have hope I will get it soon.... DO NO USED THIS COMPANY!!!! The staff lies and are highly rude when you ask a simple question like when will I receive my package they seem offended. Someone from R&L contacted me yesterday said I would receive my delivery today and today I called and they said it is on a dock in Piedmont SC. Baltimore blamed Piedmont and Piedmont Blamed Baltimore. The Tracking no does not work. This company and their employees are useless!!!!

Delivered 3 182lb each storage cabinets stacked 3 high instead of individually. It was impossible to get them down from the stack without risking serious injury. Why would you deliver to a residence like that? They also did not arrange the delivery time or date. Tracking showed it would be delivered on Mon 12/9, but they dumped it on my driveway on Fri 12/6 stacked 3 high....how can I plan to have help if they don't call ahead to let me know when they'll deliver it? The boxes were wrapped in shrinkwrap which hid extreme damage to the boxes and one of them was destroyed to the point that the cabinet leg was completely shattered...182lb cabinet. They dumped a problem on me, not a usable product. I had to box it up and coordinate a return.

I ordered a new outboard motor online on July 31st, 2024. I was contacted via text message and informed that my outboard motor would be delivered by R+L Carriers on Friday August 9th, 2024. Knowing that most of these "less than full load" carriers are driving 18-wheel trucks, I called R+L Carriers in Baltimore and told them that unless the driver is driving a 6-wheel box truck or something similar to a UPS or FedEx truck, they would have a difficult time getting out of my development because there is no place to turn around. The person I spoke with told me that the driver would indeed be driving an 18-wheeler. I then offered to meet the driver three miles away at a local Royal Farms store that had truck parking. The person on the phone thanked me, and told me that the driver would call me when he was almost there and that I could meet him for the delivery. Well, someone obviously dropped the ball because earlier today, the 18-wheeler pulled up in front of my house with the delivery. He told me that he was never told anything about me meeting him. I really felt bad for the guy because he had to back up his 18-wheeler a quarter of a mile, around a curve, over several speed bumps, then up a hill, just to get out of this housing development. It could have been avoided had the person I talked to told the driver about my willingness to meet him at the Royal Farms three miles prior to this housing development.

This company is useless. I had purchased some HVAC equipment that I needed to return, and the seller for some reason uses R+L Carriers for pickups. They told me to call R+L Carriers on Friday to arrange a pickup, so I did that, and R+L Carriers gave me a pickup number and told me they'd come to do the pick up on Monday afternoon. So far so good. I stuck around all afternoon on Monday waiting for them to arrive. They neither came nor called. I called them on Tuesday morning, gave them the pickup number they'd given me on Friday, and asked what happened. They couldn't find the pickup number in their system! They gave me a new pickup number and said they'd come that afternoon. They hadn't come by 6pm so I called them yet again. They told me they were running late but promised that they'd be here yet that day. Once again, they neither came nor called. It turned out that I had some unrelated business to take care of near the company that I was shipping this equipment to, so I decided to give up on R+L Carriers and load this equipment into my van and take it myself, which I did yesterday. The good news is that this saved me several hundred dollars in return shipping costs. I found out from my neighbor after I got back that R+L Carriers showed up to pick up the equipment while I was gone. They were supposed to call me before they came to do any pick up, but of course there was no call. If they had called I would have told them that they were three days too late -- I was already on the road taking the equipment myself. The bottom line here is that I wouldn't recommend R+L Carriers to anyone. They obviously have major problems.

On time and friendly driver.
Great communication with the dispatch office as I gave special instructions for the residential delivery.
Their rates are the best in the business.
I will use them in the future as my business grows.

THIS IS THE WORST CARRIER ON THE PLANET!
I had a delivery scheduled from 8 to12 on Friday.
Showed up at 2 and only had 1 if 3 pallets.
I Called the company and they told me you will have to wait until Monday to see if we have the other 2.
Called on Monday and they told me the other 2 will be delivered tomorrow (Tuesday).
I called the next morning to check delivery schedule and was told I was not on the schedule and was scheduled for Wednesday.
I called Wednesday and was told I am the 9th stop. You would think after all this I would be THE FIRST STOP!
I WILL NEVER USE THIS CARRIER AGAIN!
if they were the only carrier on the planet I would rent a truck and pick it up myself.

Absolute trash company. Delivered a damaged, $1500.00, 300lb item, and left it in the street. If you see this company being used as the shipping company, cancel your order.

I’m not going to the RL Cares forum, RL obviously doesn’t care, that’s why RL Carriers has a 3 out of 5 review rating. You’re a shipping company that is barely above a half in approval ratings.

Good job RL Carriers you were supposed to pick up the item you damaged on 12/21/23 between 3pm and 6pm, no surprise you didn’t show up. Keep failing, you’re doing great.

Email we sent to your Account Manager:

We wanted to make you aware of a situation that occurred yesterday with the RL Carriers. We scheduled 2 LTL pickups for yesterday. The first pickup went smoothly, as usual, with A Duie Pyle. However, the pickup we scheduled with RL Carriers for 1:30pm-3:30pm, had not arrived as of 3:45pm. Our hours of operation are Mon-Thurs 8:00-4:00 and Fri 8:00-3:30, which is why we choose this window when scheduling every pick up, all businesses have operating hours, including carriers. When I called dispatch to inquire about an ETA, I was tossed around to several people before I got “dispatch”. I let the “dispatcher for the area” know the truck hadn’t shown up yet and we were closing in 10 minutes, and I was trying to get an ETA. He put me on hold and when he returned, he informed me that “the driver is at a Target and will be there around 4:20-4:30”. I told him that would not work as we are closing in 5 minutes and that it was unacceptable if I chose a 2 hour window in conjunction with our business hours why wouldn’t a nearly hour long delay be communicated. His response was “Well, that is a ridiculous and unrealistic time frame for a pickup. That is a very dense area with warehouses”, I explained our hours of operation and asked what time frame I should have selected with our operating hours being what they are. The dispatcher then said to me “You know what, what you do you want to do, do you want me to postpone this or do you want to just use someone else”. I informed him I would appreciate if he didn’t speak to me that way, but I would have appreciated it more if the truck showed up to pick up our customers order, that needed to ship yesterday. He told me that wasn’t going to happen because his driver needed to make his deliveries first and it wasn’t his problem. I informed him I would void the shipment and I would be sending a formal complaint to World Wide Express and we would no longer use them as a carrier, and his response was “PERFECT!”.

I immediately voided the BOL in our portal and redid the whole shipment with another carrier. This required creating and printing new shipping documents and labels for the pallet, at 4:15pm, 15 minutes after we closed. At that point, I was no longer comfortable with RL Carriers having possession and transporting any of our shipments in the future.
