Absolute worst communication from a medical office I’ve ever experienced. Called to schedule an allergy test as a cash patient, receptionist discussed the details and potential costs of an actual allergy test yet failed to tell me that as a new patient I had to be scheduled for a consultation first. The day I came and I didn’t even see the doctor, I saw a nurse practitioner for about 10 minutes who was about to walk out of the room when I told her I was confused, I thought today was the test. I had avoided certain meds in preparation. She clarified it was just a consultation and I’d need to be scheduled on a different day for the test. It was somewhat upsetting but I walked out to speak to whoever does front desk and no one was there. Waited about 10 minutes and nobody ever came, other patients started to gather in line behind me. So I left to get to my next appointment figuring I would just call later to schedule, but as days went by I became even more disturbed that I was never informed about having to do a consultation first and what it entailed (both procedure and cost), so I decided I would prefer to pursue the actual test elsewhere. Fast forward 8 months, I haven’t heard a thing from this office (nobody had bothered to follow up with me either) and I come home to a strongly worded bill in the mail threatening to send me to collections for over $200. I couldn’t even remember who the office was until I googled the name and realized it must be for the mistaken allergy appointment months ago. I called the billing number on the statement to speak with someone. I tried 3 separate times that day and only went to voicemail every single time (not during lunch hours). Finally on the 4th time I left a voicemail. Never heard back. Called again a few days later, straight to voicemail. Finally I call the front office and asked to be transferred to billing and I actually got a human being to speak to. When I expressed my issues with the communication failure, the lack of any other notice about this bill, paying for something I wasn’t informed I would be receiving, as well as for being scheduled for something other than I agreed to in the first place, she basically said the staff would somehow “be addressed” for the poor communication but that they had sent me a statement months ago (which I have never received) and they absolutely would not budge on the bill REGARDLESS of whose mistake it was and then just hung up on me. I would be very cautious about going here. Judging by the other poor reviews it’s more of a pattern than a one-off. It doesn’t matter how many autographs this doctor has on his walls, if he can’t get his staff to make the patients feel just as valued as those celebrities, in the long run he will be the one to end up paying for their incompetence.

Wow, it keeps getting worse - they sent me a bill, so I called to ask WTH it's for, but their manager is conveniently out. I followed up with my insurance company and voila! Gatto's office never sent the claim through Blue Cross. Criminals!

I don’t understand what all the hoopla and bad reviews Dr Gatto and his office has had recently .
I went in yesterday ( i got an appt in 2 days -very surprising ) i prolly waited 15 minutes ? Saw Dr Gatto - he gave me plenty of time and did a few observations and one procedure and i walked out feeling very well taken care of .

This office is the worst! The office staff is clueless. After getting a referral to this office by a friend, and getting the necessary Kaiser referral letter, the doctors office refuses to schedule my appointment because they first said “the girl that handles the insurance” is out and then they said they need a code from Kaiser… this is a poor way to run an office and I’m sure the doctor would not approve of the way his staff handled the administrative side. They should schedule the appointment and then work behind the scenes to get whatever “code” they need. They have the referral letter, the rest is just back office stuff.

Horrible customer service from office staff. Have been emailing and leaving messages since October (it is now December). I only stayed as long as I did because they were the only ENT in Palm Springs-proper. BTW, I never saw him, just the nurse practicioner usually for less than 10 minutes. You can thank Darlene who’s forever too busy to return an email, pick up the phone or return a message for losing this patient!
