I’ve been a translator since 2019 but stepped away. The verbal abuse I faced from clients I interpreted for was beyond traumatic, when I brought it to their attention they didn’t take my concerns seriously and were dismissive. I cried many times and even limited my hours. I got so bad I decided I’m not working with one of the clients anymore the abuse got to extreme. I then faced more and more until it got to the point that I no longer can be apart of this toxic environment and hostile work environment. Mind you I have been an interpreter throughout childhood, for my parents. As I wanted to serve my community growing up finding a way to give back and provide care and communication to the underserved and underrepresented population. This barrier really struck me to the core. The fact that this company just profits off of us as a way to earn money then treat us with dignity and respect. We are humans and have feelings and emotions. They do not protect you and also could care less. Although this chapter in my life will forever stay closed until I can heal through this trauma I endured. I don’t think I can interpret anymore. I don’t even list this job on my resume due to how it impacted me in a negative way. I feel so sorry for myself for not researching and looking into the organization and all the red flags present.

Keep on trying to get an in-person interpreter. Got one scheduled and then they canceled it saying their interpreters weren't available. Called back and eventually they told me it was because all their Pashto interpreters were on vacation for the next three weeks (which why they let me schedule it in the first place is beyond me. They told me that they don't check their interpreters before scheduling). I asked when they would be back. They said to wait while they would forward me to Utah and then hung up on me a couple times. When I finally got to Utah they told me they couldn't tell me what times were available because the interpreter was on another call. I called back the next day. Same story except this time the coordinator was in a training meeting. Very difficult to work with and they don't seem to understand the concept that I want to schedule an interpretation when someone is actually available.

First off, I got zero job call. However, I have been getting scam calls in Spanish language trying to sell me stuff. The scam calls happened right after I provided my phone to this company. I do not recommend this company to anyone. One of the worst one. I have a feeling they are a scam too.

Inconsistent treatment!

They claim they can only make one call per session and they can only do one task per session! I needed two things done for the same client (schedule an appointment and have linguistica international dial out) and I was hung up on by one operator (he did not help with any of my requests!) and told by another that I will need to call back to make a separate dial out request! I have had other times when I speak with an operator who makes my appointment and also dials-out! This inconsistency is ridiculous to me, especially when I have 10 clients I need to call out to and make appointments for!!!! I asked to speak to customer service and was given a number that had a high volume wait time. This company does not work efficiently! If I could give a 1/2 star on this review I would have!!

Please avoid at all cost!!! Interpreters and clients, do not even attempt to try to work with them. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. They do not care about the needs of the clients or the LEP. They do not have professional interpreters because of their low wages. So please take my advice. It’s not worth the headache

I love that I can help out my community, the people who have hard time speaking English. It is good enough for me that I get to help them and this company makes it even better by paying me on top of it!!! You guys are doing great work, Linguistica.

Use their services/contract with them at your own risk. Last time I checked they don't have quality assurance evaluations for their interpreting work.
