Excellent base for exploring the forest, we were bouldering and it's close to all the Trois-Pignons areas. Gites were comfortable and well equipped (we stayed in the cottage and chalet) , host was super helpful and answered all questions.

We stayed when the temperature was 25C+, and yes there is no AC, but there are fans provided and we were never uncomfortable, the mould mentioned elsewhere wasn't present and must have been sorted.

Would recommend and would stay again.

Before booking, please be careful: the house is very humid and there are issues with mold (also in the neighboring gites- l'écurie / Stable!)

After several talks with Anne (also through the Airbnb Mediation Centre), I feel obliged to take the time to write this review to alert future tenants.
As we arrived at first glance everything looked fine. The surrounding area is nice and the house is equipped as described. We had booked the cottage and our friends with a little baby book the neighboring gites l'écurie / the stable). The first night things turned worse, as our friends noticed their gites to be very humid and moldy (the whole wall in the kitchen/living room behind the cupboards). It also felt very moist and did not smell well. Even slugs seemed to enjoy this, as the were on one wall. So our friends moved in to our gites and stayed on the couch for the first night, since they were afraid for the baby and themselves. They spoke to Anne the next morning and were able to move into the third gite, which seems to be the only dry gites.

The following day we started noticing that one of our rooms and the toilet (no window) started smelling and becoming moister (it had been raining at nights). Our friend couldn’t sleep in that room any longer and started sleeping in his car. We found a wet spot on the wall in the toilet where mold started to grow and became worse. We talked to Anne via Airbnb and she explained that would be normal, since its rains a lot in the forest and she had a water break in the shower/toilet, which still needed to dry. To us, the correct reaction would be to not rent out the place until it is officially dry and safe.

To us, it just didn’t feel good anymore. The moisture and the smell of mold made us become somewhat afraid. Anne offered to refund us for the future day, if we wanted to leave, but since we were on vacation from Germany, we did not want to abort our only holiday. We asked Anne to reduce our rent for our distress, since we cannot use the one wet room and the toilet, however unfortunately Anne does not seem to see our issue and therefore was not willing to do anything to fix the problem (other offering free wood and heaters). By the way: The WC has no window, so no airing is possible. The heaters and the fire must be on most of the time.

So we did not get a rent reduction due to the problem. However, what we go, after discussing back and forth for some time, were two photos of broken things that supposedly we had broken. (a soap dispenser and a chair, after 3 weeks after our trip. Overall it became quite absurd.
She also rented out the houses again, and we saw the next couple of the neighboring house leaving after half an hour, due to the mold there as well.
To me, in my opinion, this reaction does not qualify to be a superhost. I am really sorry.
Good on the other hand: the location in the forest, near to supermarket and bouldering areas. The kitchen is overall very well equipped and the fireplace and BBQ place outside is nice. If it hadn´t been for this main problem and the communication, it would have been a nice place.
I really hope for the future that these concerns of the tenants are taken seriously and that the mold and humidity problems get fixed BEFORE the gites are rented!

At the moment, the whole situation showed us that she thinks mold and humidity in a house is totally normal and that us being afraid of health issued is not taken seriously. We will not come back to les 3 gites and will not recommend it further.
