Learning French is a challenge for all students. As a senior I wanted to learn French so I joined a night class of adults. My progress was so slow I decided to visit Paris to learn more. I discovered Pascale online before I arrived in Paris. She was the perfect guide for me. She inspired me to communicate in French as we visited different places. I have returned three times to Paris and each time Pascale has enriched my stay by opening doors to places I would have never known. I discovered David Bowie and eclairs on the same day!
In between trips Pascale and I communicate each week for an hour via SKYPE. These lessons have expanded my vocabulary and confidence. I have used her online grammar lessons to help me in my adult education course.
I work with teachers. Not every teacher makes a student feel welcome. Pascale is a dedicated professional who welcomes you into her country and her life. I would give her FIVE Stars!!

I was looking for a way to refresh my French skills without being constraint in a classroom as well as travel to France (not because I don’t like it, but due to time constrains). After some internet research I came across the homepage of Pascale with her “Paris Version à la Francaise”. It was exactly what I was looking for … the possibility to learn a language via Skype directly from my living room.

I wasn’t disappointed. Pascale is an extremely interested person, who makes you feel comfortable from the first time. We had a lot of discussions about what’s going on in the world. She is very attentive at picking up themes you like and to use these again in discussions so that you can talk about during the lessons. I really appreciate the way she organized our Skype lessons, a mix between discussions but also focus on different grammar blind spots I used to have. Of course travelling to Paris and profit from the cultural offerings together with Pascale would have been even better, but also Skype lessons can bring Paris to your home with a professional like Pascale. I had wanted to speak French and visit Paris for as long as I can remember, and finally found Pascale's Paris immersion program through her company Paris VF, after an intensive Google search (and some polite prodding from my Parisian friend to come to Paris). Once I saw what Pascale's immersion program had to offer, I knew it was the perfect program for me--speaking lots of French while experiencing the city through activities that Pascale and I would choose together. I had previously been learning French by myself for a year through Duolingo, and felt it was time for me to really "experience" the French language and culture.

Pascale was very communicative and responsive, since my first email about her Paris program, and she and I exchanged emails up until the point of my arrival, which was in November. On our first day together, she met me at my Airbnb apartment, and she greeted me very warmly with "la bise." I felt comfortable since that moment, and knew that I was in good hands for the rest of my stay. Pascale and I spent 5 days together (3 hours each day), and we planned out the entire trip's activities during our first meeting. Pascale was wonderful at listening to my goals and what I wanted to do, and made sure we did it. For example a trip to Montmartre was an absolute must for me.

I found that Pascale adjusts her French (both cadence and vocabulary) very well to match that of her students'. We hardly spoke a word of English the whole trip, which made me feel much more confident in my own abilities both during our lessons and when I was by myself. For example, some of the things I was able to do by myself speaking ONLY French: order take-out food multiple times, take the Paris metro and commuter train (RER), buy shoes/clothes in my size, buy tickets for a visit to the Louvre (among many other museums), go to specialty shops like Mariage Frères (tea shop) or Moustaches (animal store) and ask questions about their products, go out to dinner and have a conversation with my friend and my Airbnb hostess, go through Security and Border Police at Charles De Gaulle Airport, and give directions.

I was very sad when I had to leave Pascale and Paris--my trip passed by so fast! I was so used to and comfortable with speaking French by the time of my departure that it felt so strange to get on a plane back to Boston (Massachusetts, U.S.A.) and adjust myself to speaking and hearing English again. Thank you so much, Pascale, for a very memorable and fun first trip to Paris! Your immersion program helped my "everyday" and "survival" French immensely, and it felt like an old friend rather than my teacher was showing me around Paris.

I am having a great time learning French via Skype with Paris VF. Lessons are tailor made focussing on my specific difficulties, such as pronunciation, time tenses and pronouns. I am making great progress after each lesson and my communication skills in French are growing fast - not only in class but also in everyday life as I live in a French canton in Switzerland. I couldn't have chosen a better way to learn this beautiful language. Highly recommended!!!
