If you are seeking a psychiatrist, I HOPE YOU READ ALL of my experience!

If you're worried about reaching out to a psychiatrist, you can start out by simply sending Dr. Binder a text to his cell, which he provides! This man is a Miracle!
First, he truly seems to care about me as an individual, which feels FRESH! I was in desperate need of a new psychologist for my dehibilitating Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, OCD, and PTSD disorder, was stuck in the middle of a long holiday weekend still unable to find a doctor, when I finally came across his information. With my anxiety, finding a new doctor was extremely stressful, and listed on his information was a cell phone number I could call or text, and so I texted. Within half an hour, I received a text back to see if I was available for him to call me right then for a consultation! He took extra time with me, hearing how much I was in need of help, and though he doesn't accept Medicaid, he was willing to work out a payment plan so i could get the help I need, especially with Medicaid Mental Health clinics being such a mess in our area!

Dr. Binder also blew me away with his progressive knowledge! (I had tried almost every SSRI/SNRI available, and they rarely ever helped and many times caused too many adverse effects, and he was able to fully explain to me WHY these medications were NOT working for me.. and that there were many new treatments to try... GOODBYE, SSRIs!)
He works WITH me to come up with a plan, and we try different things at my pace, which he ensures to keep in close contact to see how I'm feeling.. and if something doesn't feel right, he listens closely to see what direction may best fit my unique needs! He also is so extremely knowledgeable about many the connection between the brain and "mental disorders", medications and treatments, and the effects each has on the body, mind, and brain; I've learned so much, and self-awareness is empowering!

An IMPORTANT factor for me is that Dr. Binder DOES make himself available any time by TEXT or CALL on his personal cell phone, and so if something is urgent, it feels amazing to know my doctor is always there, ready to help deal with any issues that may arise! I cannot express how much "safer" I feel knowing he is available (or will make himself available in a timely manner) at any time... even on a holiday!

IN SHORT - Patient is IMPORTANT, amazing KNOWLEDGE of newer findings and treatments, ALWAYS available to reach by TEXT or CALL, and Doctor/Patient TEAMWORK on treatment plans!

I feel so lucky to call Dr. Binder my psychiatrist! If you struggle from any "mental disorders", take that first step to a better life by CALLING or TEXTING Dr. Michael Binder!

Dr. Binder has been an absolute blessing to me over the past 6 years. I started seeing him when I was still in high school suffering from terrible anxiety and depression. He listened, he cared, he took the time to get to know me, gave incredible advice. He prescribed me medication that I have now been on for 6 years. It has been absolutely life changing and I’m so thankful for him. With every phone call I have with him he always asks me about life updates and how I’m doing, he is so kind and an amazing person overall! He truly cares and I can’t recommend him enough!!!

I do appreciate Dr. Binder’s availability compared to other psychiatrists. However, he uses an outdated, understudied, one size fits all approach in his treatment. His idea of trying one med until you have a good effect or a bad effect is potentially dangerous. There is zero compassion and everything is approached using a medical model. There is no appropriate treatment for crises, it is simply ‘sorry i don’t work outside my protocol’ with a lack of urgency or flexibility to try new things. He states he does not believe in diagnosis, but proceeds to diagnose something incorrectly in handwritten generic notes to insurance for approval. I have not seen his face for more than 3 minutes the entire time I’ve been working with him. The rest is phone calls. Accurate diagnosis needs to be done seeing the patient with your eyes, for more than 10 minutes. I notice that most of his reviews are quite old and his website provides very little information about his treatment methods which would have been helpful prior to meeting.

I've been seeing Dr. Binder for 4 years. It took a couple visits to get a regiment that worked for me but it has completely turned my life around. He is very accessible and you will never talk to a receptionist, he always answers his phone. He takes the time to listen to every aspect of your life and doesn't try to push anything on you. I have been grateful to be a patient of Dr. Michael Binder for over the past 15 years. He was first introduced to me as my adolescent psychiatrist at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. I was very depressed, struggling with anxiety and mood changes. I am now in my 30’s, am married and consider myself to be a happy and successful person. I have Dr. Binder to thank for this. He allows me to comfortably express my true feelings, shows unconditional positive regard, provides reassurance, and gives me direction when needed. Along with psychotropic medication management, Dr. Binder uses aspects of spiritual guidance which assist me in healing my mind, body and spirit.
